THE TEN THOUSAND DAY WAR

arma 3 · unsung · a valley that keeps fighting when nobody is watching

A persistent Vietnam war that runs around the clock whether anyone is playing or not. There is no schedule and no lobby — you drop in whenever, and the war is wherever it got to without you.

DOWNLOAD THE LAUNCHER Windows · 71 MB · no installer

Run it. It checks your machine, tells you in plain words if anything is missing, fixes what it can on its own, and puts you in the war. It also shows you the valley live — who holds what, how many are fighting — before you commit to loading a game.

Windows will try to stop you

The launcher isn't code-signed, so you'll get “Windows protected your PC”. That's SmartScreen not recognising a small private download, not a virus warning. Click More info then Run anyway.

If it still won't start: right-click the file → Properties → tick Unblock → OK.

What you need first

  1. Arma 3, owned on Steam. The launcher finds it by itself.
  2. Tailscale — this is a private server with no public address. If you don't have it, the launcher installs it for you.
  3. An invite from DeadMan so your machine is allowed on the network. Ask him; it takes him ten seconds.

You don't need to sort any of that out in advance. Run the launcher and it will tell you which of the three is missing, one at a time.

The mods

Nine Steam Workshop mods, and the launcher lists them with a tick or a cross so you can see exactly which ones you still need. Anything missing gets a button that opens its Workshop page — press Subscribe and come back.

It also downloads our radio music, which is about 289 MB and the slowest part. If it gets interrupted, run the launcher again and it picks up where it left off rather than starting over.

One rule

The radio music is ours and it is private. Never share it, upload it, or put it anywhere public. Everything else here is just Arma and Steam.

If something goes wrong

The launcher is built to tell you which wall you've hit rather than shrug. The most common one, and the least obvious: a second VPN. If you're running Nord, Proton, Express or anything similar, it will hold the route and Tailscale silently can't get through — even though it says Connected. The launcher will shout about this if it spots it. Turn the other VPN off.

Anything it can't solve, screenshot it and send it to DeadMan. It shows the exact thing it tried, so the picture is usually enough.
