LANMECCA

A safe retro LAN hub for the warm-glow era: tools, servers, docs, and community — built for people who want to own their stuff again.

Mission

LANMECCA is a home for retro gaming and self-hosted tooling — with modern safety habits. The goal is simple: keep classic machines usable, keep LAN parties alive, and build a place where the community can share knowledge without the usual internet nonsense.

Core principle
Your hardware. Your software. Your files. No forced cloud.
What “safe” means here
Hardened guides + sane defaults + no sketchy downloads shoved at people.
The vibe
90s terminal energy — organized, readable, not performative.
What you won’t find
Malware, spyware bundlers, “driver updater” scams, or mysterious EXEs.
What’s live right now?
  • HTTPS is live on the temporary host (PANCAKE).
  • Landing page + roadmap placeholders.
  • Everything else is being built in public (slowly, correctly).

Tooling (planned)

Downloads area (placeholder)
  • Not live yet. When it is, everything will be checksummed and documented.
  • Legacy OS media will link outward (archive sources) — LANMECCA will host only what’s safe/owned.

Community (planned)

How this stays “clean”
  • No random file dumps. Everything has context, hashes, and clear provenance.
  • Security-first defaults: “don’t trust, verify” as a habit, not a slogan.
  • This is nostalgia with seatbelts.

Roadmap

Phase 1 — Landing + infrastructure
  • Basic site pages: About, Roadmap, Contact
  • Harden nginx + headers
  • Reliable DNS strategy (dynamic IP-proof)
Phase 2 — Docs + tooling releases
  • Retro hardening guides
  • First downloadable tools (signed + hashed)
  • Launcher + config backup workflows
Phase 3 — Community
  • Forums + authentication
  • Chat
  • Community submissions with validation

Contact

This is intentionally minimal for now.
